Online Card Class - Day 2

Hi there. Here is my card for day 2 of Online Card Classes: Watercolor for Card Makers: Exploring Mediums.

I tried the no line coloring technique. This was hard for me. I'm more comfortable doing no line coloring with my Copic markers. I have more control with the blending. I used the storage envelope to apply the distress inks because when I used the nonstick craft mat, I couldn't see what colors I was using.

I had to make up my own leaves as I couldn't see my outline that much. I took this picture before stamping on the verse, just in case I made a boo boo.

I used my MISTI for perfect placement. I used two different  Mama Elephant sets for this card.
I used Tim Holtz's Distress inks for water coloring.

Doesn't look so nice up close. I need to practice and probably need better water color paper.
I drew on the eyelashes.

Thanks for looking. Have a creative day!

Online Card Class - Day 1

Hello there. Thanks for visiting me. I am taking the Online Card Class - Watercolor for Card Makers, Exploring Mediums.  I have been using watercolors for awhile but by taking the class I have learned a lot of new techniques. Here is my card for Day 1.

Here they taught us how to blend from markers directly on the paper. Of course, their presentation of marker coloring onto paper was a lot neater than mine.

Looks so much better when water was added.
I sprinkled some water droplets onto the watercolors for a more water colored look. Love it.

I cut out the leaves from a set from MFTStamps

Stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant Stamps.
I love how the inks from Tim Holtz Distress ink pads blend and go so perfectly together.

Now on to Day 2.
Thanks for looking.
Take care!

Celebrate...again.

I made another card for the current challenge for Mama Elephant and Me.

Again, I picked up on the pompoms and the colors. I also added a touch of burlap.

I used white streamers and colored them with Copics.

Cute pandas, right?!

Thanks for visiting.

Celebrate

Hello Everyone,

I'm loving Mama Elephant's  new challenge found at Mama Elephant and Me!  Once I saw the inspiration I knew exactly what I wanted to do. First thing I saw were pompoms or is it really pompons?

I try to make at least ten cards because I have a lot of family and friends who like my cards.  I am totally into watercoloring right now and prepped my cards onto 7 mil laminated construction paper with basic painter's tape.

I also scribbled and dabbed some of Tim Holtz's distress inks on laminated watercolor paper scrap.

I totally had an assembly line going on for sure. I love how the colors really went well together.

I used paper streamers and my quilling tool to make the pompons.

Cute, right?!  This stamp set, In My Heart, is inspired by Operation Write Home. 20 % of retail profits from the sale of this cute stamp set will be donated to Operation Write Home from
June 15th to July 31st.

I don't know which version I liked better.

Hip Hip Hooray!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you liked it. Tomorrow you'll be seeing more Mama Elephant characters, like the pandas cheering us on!

4.4 Retrosketches #108 - You Are Loved

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a card before I left for work. This card took me about 10 minutes to make.

I used Tim Holtz's Distress Inks to color the diecut leaves.

First time to use my sewing machine on a card.
I had to repair a favorite comforter and the sewing machine was left out..... so this is the result.
Pretty good. Maybe a smaller needle might look better on the card.

I played along with retrosketches challenge. I hope you like my card!
Thanks for stopping by!

CFC 127: I love you so much

Hello again! I made another card inspired by Angela of Paper and Ribbons. You can find her beautiful card HERE.

I created this card for CAS-ual Fridays CFC 127 Over the edge challenge.

I cut an A2 card size about 1/4 inch smaller on all sides so that I can have those pretty hearts over the edge and still fit in an envelope.

I have a lot of white heart diecuts. Will have to save those for a future project.
Thanks for looking!

Runway Inspired Challenge #53

Wow! I can't believe I found the time to make another card. This one was very time consuming but it was relaxing and liked the challenge. The challenge is for Runway Inspired Challenge #53. I wish I can wear a dress like this. So pretty!

This was my second card. My first card was a big fail because I didn't cover the Quatrefoil die with enough glue. So when I die cut the Marianna Vine, pieces of my Quatrefoil design was falling apart.

So the second attempt I put the diecuts through my Xyron sticker maker. Worked out so much better and was so much easier.

Here's a closer look at the details. I cut out the Marianne Vine in white shiny cardstock and colored the leaves with Copics. The pearls I bought from a dollar store at a scrapbook convention and also colored with Copics.  The verse was stamped with white ink , used clear embossing powder and also colored with Copics.

I am going to make more cards like this cuz I love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Materials used:
Dies: Papertrey Ink (Quatrefoil), Memory Box (Large Marianna Vine)
Stamps: Mama Elephant (Love from Above)
Embellies: dollar store pearls colored with Copics.

you are loved

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I have completed a card for a challenge... well, I'm combining two challenges really.

I really had fun stamping the background. I found it quite relaxing for me. Stamping on the vellum, not so fun. I couldn't get a dark image and I kept smudging the ink. Even though it wasn't noticeable to someone else, I knew the smudge was there and made a second card.

I made this card for Mama Elephant's challenge where I picked up the pinks and the pearls. I used three of their stamp sets and their Femme Frames die in this card. I love Mama Elephant.

Also this is my first challenge entry for The Card Concept. I consider my card to be Classy and Elegant because I added sparkling embellishments, used a rich and monochromatic color scheme with sweeping stamped images and embellishments.

I hope you like my card and know that you are loved!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Darling

Since being sick and still not fully recovered, I have had a lot of creative time on my hands. I am a new fan to Mama Elephant stamps. They currently have a month long challenge where you find  creative inspiration in a photo.

A lot of fun coloring and masking (not so fun) was done. I even used five different Mama Elephant stamps. Here is my creative interpretation. I picked up the colors pink, black and yellow from the picture. I also liked how the pillows were arranged and did the same thing for my "stuffed animals." I have many different versions of this card and this one is my favorite. Do you notice the crab holding the heart pillow. I used an x-acto knife to cut his claws and then inserted the heart pillow. My Copic shadowing almost looks 3D.... whoa.

Thanks for looking. Have a creative day!
Lynn
